Rep. Courtenay Sprunger Selected for Prestigious Rodel Fellowship Class of 2026

September 19, 2025

The Office of Rep. Courtenay Sprunger is pleased to announce that she has been chosen to join the Class of 2026 Rodel Fellowship. The Rodel Fellowship is widely regarded as the nation’s premier leadership development program for elected leaders. Each year, just 24 state and local leaders are selected nationwide for a two-year series of intensive seminars.

Founded in 2005 by the Rodel Institute and former Republican Congressman Mickey Edwards, the fellowship was created to help strengthen democracy by investing in ethical leadership. Fellows engage with some of history’s most important works on democracy, values, and leadership—reading and discussing writings from the Declaration of Independence and the preamble to the U.S. Constitution to the words of Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King, Jr., among many others.

Rep. Sprunger shared:"It’s an incredible honor to be selected for the Rodel Fellowship. At a time when so much divides us, I’m grateful to join leaders from across the country to wrestle with big ideas, find common ground, and grow as a public servant. I’m committed to bringing what I learn back home to strengthen our community and ensure Montana’s voice is part of the national conversation on the future of democracy."

Since its founding, the Rodel Fellowship has equipped more than 425 elected officials—many of whom have gone on to serve as governors, U.S. senators, Cabinet secretaries, and even Vice President of the United States.
